Spudtember...Day 26!

It's just a short stretch to the finish line now! Still doing great, but weight loss slowed to a creep due to the large amount of spuds I have been eating. I calculated I am eating about 1700-2000 calories (5-6 pounds) of potatoes daily. While this amount makes me feel good, it has definitely hampered my goal of losing a couple more pounds.

So, for the next 5 days, I will be keeping my potato intake down to 3 pounds per day max, in an attempt to hit my goal weight of 170 pounds for the month. I've been sitting at 173-174 for the last 10 days, so even if I lose no more weight, I'll be happy.

Wish me luck!

Also of note, I've been chatting with Karl Seddon of Elixa Probiotics. He's got a few new products up his sleeve that I think you will be excited about.  More to come next month, but for now, check out Karl as he talks about FODMAPS in this most excellent video:

    1. I've never been a huge fan of probiotics, so you can probably guess what has gotten me excited, lol. Karl really is a fascinating guy, and quite ahead of the other makers of probiotics with regards to delivery system and composition.

    2. Couldn't agree more. But I keep coming back here to see what you have up your sleeve as well - I may not understand it all but for the last 2 years, I've been a fan. Keep it up, Tim!

  2. Thanks Tim! Look forward to hearing how things go after you are finished with your month of spuds.... Will the weight stay off? Or is this something to add to our bag of tricks for weight loss.

    1. I'm still mulling over what I have learned, and I'm also curious to see what happens in the weeks after. 30 days is a long time, but maybe 30 "pretty good" days of potato hacking are easier than 3-5 perfect days. I'll let you know Friday or Saturday how the final week goes, and then some followups in October.

    1. I'm pretty sure dosage is 10 capsules at 50 billion CFUs each.

    3. Correct!
I'll also add that I do manufacture in quite a deal of overage to ensure everyone gets the full potency as a bare minimum.
Last batch analysis came up at 76 Billion CFU per 0.5g/capsule on the COA, with peaks at 95 Billion. I aim for approx 50-75% additional potency to listed amount to ensure full quoted potency at time of consumption up to 2 years after manufacture :)
Thank you for the comments and big thank you to Tim for posting my video!

Penn Jillette goes in-depth on his weight loss. The first thing he did was potato-hack for 2 weeks (somewhat accidental, he did not call it a potato hack, but anyways).

    1. Interesting video, but I have a feeling he knew that the potato was the ideal food to use, and it was not randomly chosen because it was "funny." I sense some legal issues if he had mentioned Tim's Potato Hack, or used reasons that Tim lists in his book.
